The first five weeks of the 2025 NFL season have already delivered excitement, upsets, and standout performances. The season opened with a thrilling international matchup in São Paulo, where the Los Angeles Chargers narrowly defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 27–21, as Justin Herbert threw for 318 yards and three touchdowns. Rookie quarterbacks also made headlines, with Jaxson Dart leading the New York Giants to a victory despite a season-ending injury to wide receiver Malik Nabers.

Green Bay started strong, winning convincingly in Week 2, while the New England Patriots posted their first 30-point game since 2021. Buffalo and Baltimore both dominated, following up their Week 1 successes. Week 3 saw the Browns hand the Packers their first loss, and the Detroit Lions bounced back with an impressive win over the Chicago Bears.

Week 4 featured Patrick Mahomes throwing four touchdowns as the Chiefs beat the Ravens 37–20, though Lamar Jackson suffered a hamstring injury, adding to Baltimore’s early-season struggles. The Seahawks won a dramatic last-second game against the Cardinals, and the Steelers took the AFC North lead with a narrow win over the Vikings.

Week 5 brought surprises, as the Denver Broncos handed the previously unbeaten Philadelphia Eagles their first loss, while the Colts routed the Raiders 40–6, marking them as early-season contenders. The Cowboys cruised past the Jets 37–22, leaving New York winless and facing mounting questions.

Emerging storylines include Indianapolis’ dominance in blowout wins and Baltimore’s injury woes. As the season approaches its midpoint, teams like Buffalo, Dallas, and Denver are proving they can compete, while struggling franchises search for answers.
