The East Brunswick boys bowling team has been one of the stronger performers on the lanes so far. In a December 8 matchup against South Brunswick, the Bears earned a 3–1 victory in GMC Red competition. East Brunswick dropped the first game but responded strongly by capturing Games 2 and 3, including a 1,019–726 win in Game 2. The team finished with 2,682 total pins to South Brunswick’s 2,455, led by standout performances from Tyler Sultana, who rolled a 628 series with a 233 high game, and Evan Conticchio, who contributed a 584 series.

A few days later, on December 11, East Brunswick faced Monroe and narrowly fell 3–1, despite competitive games and solid individual scoring.

These results reflect a boys team that competes hard every week and benefits from balance in its lineup. Multiple scorers are posting strong series, and the team’s ability to rebound after early setbacks has been key to its mid-season success.

Coach Windmaier said, “Our boys have really been putting the work in during Friday league. I’m proud of how they support each other and adjust mid-match—it’s paying off in big games.”

However, the girls team has faced a tougher slate of opponents early in the season, but there have been encouraging individual performances and signs of improvement.

On December 8, East Brunswick hosted South Brunswick and was edged 4–0. Despite the loss, Zoe Parr paced the team with a 378 series, and Jessie Chen rolled the team’s high individual game with 139.

Three days later, on December 11 against Monroe, the Bears again came up short 4–0, but several bowlers had noteworthy outings. Ananya Kasetty posted a 392 series with a 157 high game, while Jessie Chen added a 364 series. The team showed stronger bowling in the third game with a 634 total collectively, suggesting growth as the lineup gains experience.

Although the ladies have not yet captured a win, coaches and teammates highlight the progress being made in fundamentals such as spare shooting and lane adjustments.

Coach Keenan said, “The girls are learning to trust each other and stay focused, even when the scores aren’t what we want. I’m excited to see how they turn this progress into wins.”

With the second half of the season still to come, both East Brunswick teams are eager to build on what they’ve learned so far. The boys team hopes to string together more victories and move up in the GMC Red standings, while the girls squad is focused on turning individual improvements into wins.

Players on both sides agree that consistency — in practice and in competition — will be essential. As the teams finish their regular schedules and prepare for possible postseason play, the emphasis remains on steady improvement, teamwork, and confidence on the lanes.
