JUNE 23, 2026
Residents from across Middlesex County gathered at Roosevelt Park in Edison on June 13th, 2026, for a celebration of Middlesex County, a free event that highlighted the county’s diversity and community spirit. The event ran from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and was designed for families and students from across the county.
Visitors had the opportunity to enjoy live entertainment, interactive booths, food vendors and local organizations. Planned attractions included a touch-a-truck experience, inflatable obstacle courses, face painting, henna art, a fishing derby, and cultural performances reflecting the diversity of Middlesex County. The main stage schedule also included performances from groups such as the Carteret Step Team, East Brunswick Magnet School dance and music groups, Sudhamini Dance, and Raíces Cultural Center.
“The event seems exciting because there are so many different activities in one place,” said EBHS senior Gargi Patel. “It seems like a fun way to spend time with friends while learning more about the county.”
For many students, the event represented an opportunity to experience cultures and traditions they may not encounter in their daily lives. “I think events like these are important because they allow people to meet others they may not meet outside of their own town,” said EBHS junior Allison Chen.
In a county made up of 25 municipalities, events such as a celebration of Middlesex County gives residents a chance to connect beyond their local communities. By combining food, exhibits, performances, and the ability for residents to interact, the event presented Middlesex County as a community to experience.
