East Brunswick's All New Ice Skating Rink
MARCH 30, 2026
After months of development, the East Brunswick Ice Arena opened March 22nd. The grand opening included figure skating exhibitions, hockey games, and many public skating sessions. The project broke ground on September 20th of 2024 and has now opened to the public nearly two and a half years later. The arena includes two NHL sized ice rinks and plenty of room for spectators.
Junior Kaylee Choi, a former figure skater, said, “Growing up ice skating in my old hometown allowed me to realize how important art is for self expression, and hearing that an ice rink will be near home again brings me so much joy.”
The arena hosted their first hockey game for the CBR Ice Hockey Team’s senior night on February 4th. This was East Brunswick's first look inside the project and certainly brought a lot of excitement for the completion of the project.
This ice rink allows athletes to practice closer to home instead of driving to another town. There have already been sessions for those learning to play hockey and the Learn to Skate USA program begins on March 31st. There are Tuesday and Saturday classes that occur once a week for six weeks.
East Brunswick citizens will now have more activities to do around town. Junior Arya Ahsan said, “I am so excited to go to the ice rink with my family and have a lot of fun.”
This skating rink will now allow aspiring figure skaters and hockey players in East Brunswick to pursue their dreams. Not only will the new arena allow for athletes to practice and for people to learn, but it also encourages a tighter-knit community, revitalizing leisure and competition at East Brunswick, on ice.
