It is that time of year again—when the graduating senior class casts votes not only for their fellow students’ superlatives, but also their favorite teachers. This year, that honor went to Mr. Troshane.

Mr. Troshane, who has taught courses such as AP World History, AP European History, and U.S. History II, has concluded his ninth year at East Brunswick High School. When asked about what his favorite part of those nine years has been, Troshane said, “It's been great to see so many bright kids grow up and go onto college”.

Mr. Troshane is a teacher who truly cares. Every day, he greeted his students at the door, and they were always excited to see what he planned for the day. Junior Sanchita Bhargava said, “There were days where he would just dress up as people we were learning about, like Genghis Khan or a plague doctor. It was funny to see him try to talk in an accent.”

Other days Troshane would act out the lectures. Junior Jeremy H. said, “One day, halfway through the lecture he suddenly got down on his knees and started trying to act out how the soldiers fought. I couldn’t stop laughing.”

Beyond the classroom, Mr. Troshane also serves as the advisor for the International Club. Senior Sahil Kochar, the club’s president, said, “Mr. Troshane is the most passionate and supportive advisor I could ask for.”

Due to his effort and hard work at EBHS, Mr. Troshane was chosen as this year’s graduation speaker. As Senior Priyadarshini Singh said, “There is no surprise that he was chosen – he truly impacted all of us!” His humor, passion, and unwavering commitment to his students extend beyond just the classroom and have distinguished him as a highly appreciated member of the EBHS community. It goes without saying that EBHS would not be the same without Mr. Troshane.
