Homecoming 2025

OCTOBER 24, 2025, 5:35 P.M.

Each year, on a late October night, students enter the school for a chance to let their troubles vanish, at least for a couple of hours, at the annual Homecoming dance.

This year, according to the student body, the autumnal dance of Homecoming was once again a thrilling night between singles, friends, and dates from every grade level, all enjoying a few hours of food, drinks, fun, and dancing. The event mainly takes place in the cafeteria, but students are able to enter the terminal and go outside throughout the night. For this year’s Homecoming, students had to register by Friday, October 17th; also by the 17th was their Homecoming Court vote for who would be crowned EBHS royalty at the 7-9 pm event. For the sophomore class, this was their first year experiencing Homecoming; meanwhile, for many juniors and seniors, this wasn’t anything new.

Homecoming can be described in the words of Senior Jacob Marcos, who said “The vibes were ecstatic.” Almost every single part of Homecoming was packed; even at the start, as several students grabbed a quick, steaming pizza or a dessert. The event, from open to close, was energetic, especially on the dance floor; hundreds of students showed off their moves and chanted to the songs. Plus, boys and girls, sophomores and seniors alike, went out of control with the dancing, and their actions made the night memorable for many. The energy didn’t fade when the dancing stopped for a moment to crown the Homecoming Court royalty for each class. One of the royals, Sophomore Anthony DaSilva, says that, “The royalty represents the school and its best qualities.” and that was certainly true of the nine recipients at the dance.

Just as plentiful as the active students were the calmer students, talking and socializing in a night where all of the students’ troubles seemed to be lost in the music and night. Many sat down at the decorated tables to eat pizza and start up a conversation with each other, but just as many gathered right at the entrance.

While outside the cafeteria, singles and couples walked past the impressive terminal hall decorations, created by each year’s Class Council. Junior Abigail Fauci said about Homecoming that “It was fun! I think the classes did really well with the decorations this year.” Many also seemed to believe the seniors’ decorations were the best of the three classes. The photo booths were continually filled with a long line until the end of the night, as boys and girls both crowded the area for a digital photo they could remember forever. Even minutes after 9:00, there were still some students dancing, taking last-minute pictures, and hanging around just outside the cafeteria, quite telling of how the excitement did not fade even when the event ended.

Homecoming week has passed, but for the school body, the memories will remain with them for a long time. It is possible that some students who got a date for Homecoming will stay with said date past October, into the next year. And for the seniors, that could even last up until Prom, at the end of the school year; but for the rest of the school, it’s back to school work, until next year’s Homecoming.
