As the weather turns colder, EBHS’ iconic Coffeehouse approaches. Hosted by the Tri-M Music Honor Society, Coffeehouse allows students to sing or play instruments and perform music covers or original pieces.

Tri-M executive board members have done a lot to prepare as Coffeehouse nears, including spreading information about the event. Social Media Manager of Choir Council Junior Grace Shin said, “I’ve been creating Instagram posts to spread information about Coffeehouse to members and our audience.” Social Media Manager for Tri-M, Senior Gabby Bonesse added, “I just made an extra reel and have been posting tons of story reminders about auditions and other fun things.”

Others prepared for other event logistics. Tri-M has been “hosting auditions, planning decorations, purchasing snacks and cider for Coffeehouse,” said Vice President of Tri-M, Gavin Salgado.

As the board organized the event, members nervously awaited audition results. Junior Ananya Gupta said, “I have practiced ‘This Town’ by Niall Horan so many times that the lyrics are probably engraved into my brain.”

Other performers have a different approach. Junior Douglass Littner said,“I’d say when I prep for auditions, I go through the motions, singing and tapping my feet, but eventually, those motions lead to worry, so the best thing to do would be to get yourself confident and then ride that confidence. If you prepare too much, you psych yourself out, so just take what you learn, give it passion and love, and practice it until you find it good.”

It's clear that although everyone prepared for the Coffeehouse in different ways, their combined efforts will ensure the success of this charming event.
