The night of October seventeenth involved a fierce match-up between some of the school's most skilled ping pong players. The event, hosted by Asian Club, began with a total of 20 aspiring participants fighting for the winning spot.

“It was a great display of fellowship and hardship under the acts of competition,” said participant Emmanuel Marcos, a senior.

At first, the competition was relaxed; the players were laser-focused on winning. However, the competition soon broke out into an intense battle of precision and speed. With Zayd Shariff smashing away from the left of the bracket and Ty Hecht dominating the right, these ultimate opponents met at the finals. President of Asian Club, Senior Johnny Seto said, “Watching this competition was extremely intense but also one of the most fun nights of my life.”

The competition picked up, and the score was neck and neck. Unsure of who would win, the crowd watched the game intently, sitting on the edges of their seats in anticipation.

Participant but also a spectator for the final round, Junior LeAnn Chen, said, “Honestly, I didn’t even know who was going to win. At [that] point, I think it’s up to luck to decide.”

As the last rally was underway, it became clear who would become the champion of this tournament. Ty Hecht scored the last point, securing his victory. The stands roared in a mix of praise and passion, cheering for both extremely skilled players.
