Choir Winter Concert
JANUARY 23, 2026, 8:01 A.M.
The Winter Chorus Concert, a highly anticipated event, took place December 15th at Churchill Junior High School. The Choir, paired with the talented Orchestra, sang 4 songs including Hallelujah, Hallelujah Chorus, Sikirileke/Koloi, and Shine the Light. Bella Voce, the honors choir ensemble at EBHS, sang a variety of songs. Junior Alexa Backhouse, the Soprano 1s section leader, felt it was her “favorite piece” and noted that it was Bella Voce’s “most powerful song” due to its touching themes of overcoming adversity. She had also expressed her pride in everyone's progress through practice
Along with previously mentioned songs, Bella Voce sang El Humo and Dobru Noc. Students and faculty were excited for this concert as it displayed the pieces that these talented singers had been working on. Another Section Leader, Junior Rowan Meer, expressed her excitement, specifically how it’s “one of [her] favorite events of the year.” She also mentioned that, “it’s an opportunity for the group and our director, Mr. Good, to gauge the potential of every year’s collection of music and people.” Both Section Leaders agreed that they are proud of all the students, congratulating them on their hard work.
All of the performers looked forward to showing off their work to an audience, and seeing their peers there to support them. Many performers hoped watchers would leave with greater appreciation for what they do. Their skills were put on display considering the selection of pieces included a diverse array, leading to singers honing in on linguistic skills. This decision led to more well-rounded students, using the arts to create excellence.
Senior Helen Ayoub said, “so beautiful to watch and I just couldn’t look away.”
The Choir concert ended wonderfully, with singers walking out feeling accomplished and the audience left mesmerized, awaiting the next event.
