From March 9-11th, the EBHS Future Business Leaders of America club had the opportunity to represent East Brunswick at the New Jersey State Leadership Conference at Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City. The event consisted of statewide testing and presentations on a variety of business-related topics, such Marketing and Sales, Financial Services, and Healthcare and Human Services. Campaigning also took place for those who competed as state office candidates.

The theme of this conference was “Fuel Your Future,” inspiring attendees to use the trip as an opportunity to prepare for future careers. Students got to learn from experts in fields of interest, as well as connect with other students who shared similar passions with them.

Kaitlynn Wang, East Brunswick FBLA Administrative Assistant, said, “This was my second year attending NJFBLA SLC, and it was an amazing experience. I had the opportunity to compete in social media strategies with my friends and work alongside the executive board and Ms. Kenney to prepare our members.”

The FBLA members worked hard throughout the year, which resulted in a great turnout; over 100 people went to states and the EB team placed first in Hearts for Hygiene, a chapter community service event. Junior Arya Ahsann and her partner also won second place in Broadcast Journalism. Ahsann said, “I felt incredible when they called mine and my partner’s names on that stage.”

EB FBLA President Jonathan Seto said,“Because of all the hard work that East Brunswick has put into their chapter, we were able to make a great impression at SLCs this year, and I believe that next year's conference will be even better!”

In total, 33 students from East Brunswick who attended the conference placed in the top ten and received an award, and 10 students placed in the top four. All of the students who went on this trip proudly represented EBHS and learned more about how to fuel their future.
