As the year comes to a close, it’s that time again at East Brunswick High School: concert season. The Performing Arts Department recently witnessed the winter band concert on December 4th, at East Brunswick High School, and the winter orchestra performance on December 9th, at the Joann Magistro Performing Arts Center.
The band concert featured the Wind Ensemble, Percussion, and Concert Band, all of which “did really well” according to Sophomore Het Ghandi, a trombone player in Concert band. Ghandi said, “I think everyone did a good job and also had fun performing. It was a really great experience being onstage.”
The following week, the EBHS orchestra also had a phenomenal performance. Dr. Gopal, the EBHS East Brunswick High School orchestra teacher said, “I think the students played well and had a good time performing despite being in a different setting. It was a very fun concert, and I encourage everyone to come to future concerts.”
The repertoire featured the works of Mozart, Janacek, Dvořák, and holiday music, which totalled to 9 songs. Senior Matthew Ho, featured Chamber Orchestra cello soloist, said, “This concert was very exciting! The repertoire was really good, and I had a great time performing!”
Both performances successfully showcased the ability of the students while embodying East Brunswick’s excellence in the arts.
