On August 6 and September 3, 2025, Netflix’s runaway television hit Wednesday made its much-anticipated return with a Season 2 two-part release. Picking up shortly after the events of Season 1, the new season follows Wednesday Addams as she returns to Nevermore Academy—only this time, she faces even greater threats, deeper mysteries, and more personal challenges.

Season 2 dives headfirst into supernatural tension. Wednesday becomes the target of a stalker, and her increasingly unsettling visions hint that her friend Enid may be in danger. As she investigates secrets tied to Nevermore’s past, Wednesday must also confront her growing psychic abilities and complicated emotional connections, both of which challenge her distant personality.

Reactions from fans have been largely positive, though some have critiqued the plot points for feeling strange. EBHS junior Adarsha Katakdhond said, “I like the new season and think it has a good plot. However, I don't like the weird relationship between Tyler and his mother.”

The season builds on what made the first so popular, blending suspense, sharp humor, and emotional storytelling. The Addams family continues to play a meaningful role, with Morticia, Gomez, Grandmama, and Pugsley making several appearances. Meanwhile, new characters help expand the world. One standout is Rosaline Rotwood, a mysterious former professor portrayed by Lady Gaga, who adds another layer of intrigue to the plot.

EBHS Senior Ushnish Chattopadhyay said, “I wasn’t expecting Lady Gaga to fit so well into the Wednesday world, but her role as Rosaline really gave the season an extra spark.”

With unexpected twists and a deeper focus on identity and friendship, Wednesday Season 2 proves to be another success. Now that the season has wrapped, fans are already speculating about what’s next for Wednesday.
