Stranger Things has been an acclaimed and beloved series since its debut in Season 1, with its popularity stretching into the final season. Whether it is extravagant special effects or legendary plot lines, Stranger Things has never failed to deliver to its audience. With the announcement of Season 5, fans eagerly awaited its release, and Volume 1 did not disappoint.
In Season 5 Volume 1, viewers see the return of cherished characters and where the story leads after the shocking events of Season 4. The aftermath of Vecna’s attack on Max and the rest of Hawkins is revealed, the town enters a military lockdown with increased enforcement, making the main characters’ search for Vecna more challenging. As Volume 1 progresses, it becomes clear that there are larger issues at play, forcing the characters to navigate this new situation to defeat Vecna and save the world.
“Everything literally twisted with the way they changed Max from being a rebel to a kinder person, making me think of what trauma she must have been through to shift her personality,” said EBHS Sophomore Kaiyah Laine. “Will has become my absolute GOAT and gained powers. I just hope that he’s not killed off as the show continues. Robin is someone else that I hope doesn’t get killed off either because of the growing importance of her character.”
There has been significant work and attention to detail put into Stranger Things, which hooks the audience as the tension builds. As the series comes to an end, the immaculate character and plot development come into full focus, exposing how deliberately each storyline has been crafted since and fueling fan speculation.
EBHS Sophomore Janeli Colon praised the new elements introduced this season. “I’m in love with everything from Season 5: The character designs like Vecna and Will absolutely shocked me, along with his powers adding all new routes for his character. I also love the continued introduction of new characters, and Delightful Derek was the addition to Season 5 I didn’t know I needed, making him an all-around perfect character that needs to make it to the end.”
Stranger Things continues to deliver twists and turns in Season 5 and has been warmly received by fans. The final season allows previous characters to continue their storylines while making room for new characters to develop within the larger narrative Stranger Things has forged.
As episodes continue to be released on Dec 25 and Dec 31, fans await a breathtaking finale that honors the unforgettable characters and emotional journeys that captivated viewers' attention and defined Stranger Things from the beginning.
