April Yu, Editor-in-Chief
Senior April Yu is the Editor-in-Chief of The Clarion, where she leads a team of 6 sections and 50+ student journalists in article development, layouts, and media outreach. When her first article was rejected by the newspaper in sophomore year, she decided to rewrite it from scratch. The review went on to win the New York Times Student Review Contest.
As the former Opinions Editor, her love for journalism stems from platforming overlooked and underserved voices to discuss youth-centric issues, from artificial intelligence in English classrooms to the patriarchal pop culture standards that discredit female pop stars like Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo.
At EBHS, April is involved in Waksman Student Scholars, Model UN, English Honor Society, Science Honor Society, Math Honor Society, and National Honor Society.
You can find her debating American federalism, reading romance novels, researching molecular pathways in the intestine, or eating apricot jam.
